My camera is dead at an inopportune time…

.. earlier in the week I took an extended weekend and went island camping in Lake George, NY. It was a water and boat filled 4 days full of friends and fun. But my SLR camera, that I toted all the way to the island just for the occasion, died. Something with the batteries or maybe with me lacking the ability to properly transport the camera in the <off> position. At any rate what I had hoped would have been a photo filled entry is lacking in content.

Thankfully my dear friend and fellow blogger Lindsey let me borrow her point and shoot to capture the moon rising over the lake.

It’s not much but it is something… I have purchased a new set of rechargeable batteries so that I don’t put myself through this torture of not having a camera on a vacation EVER again!

Happy Friday!

Top Gun…

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to accompany my boyfriend on a flying lesson over Northern New Jersey…

It was an amazing experience in our tiny Cessna plane… and I didn’t even throw up!

Philharmonic 2010 …. the other borough…

I got the privilege this year of getting to listen to the Philharmonic in not only Central Park but in Prospect park in Brooklyn. And although there will always be fond memories of all the Philharmonics I’ve heard in Central Park the Prospect Concert was great. Not that the music was any more amazing but that it was not as organized, more free-flowing. Kinda like Brooklyn!

Here are some night shots from the Philharmonic in Prospect Park…

The Philharmonic play in Central Park 2010…

One of my all time favorite outdoor events in NYC during the summer is when the Philharmonic sets up their Orchestra in Central Park and play to an audience of cheese eating and wine drinking New Yorkers for FREE on the Great Lawn! Last night’s performance did not disappoint and thankfully the rain held off long enough for us to set up our picnic spread and enjoy the concert completely dry!

One. Red. Balloon.

The Great Lawn get crowded with people… one way people find their group is to use balloons to identify where they are. This one red balloon stretched high into the sky.

Celebrating… with fireworks

I am a self-described pyro. I love how fire looks and I get absorbed into the warmth of it all. Fireworks although beautiful always have scared me a bit. Especially when they are being lite off a nearby roof in Brooklyn, NY.

… still pretty though.

Hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th of July. So glad summer is here!
